If you can't be with the 0ne you love, love the one you're with! Go Spartans! It's kinda fun spending my last week in Michigan rooting for the Bball team that beat the team that kicked out our UofA Wildcats in the Sweet 16, and are now in the championship! FANTASTIC!

Is anybody actually reading this? What is the point of a blog, anyway. I think it's an online diary, only different because if you take the time to set up a blog on the internet, it's not just for you. You hope others will read it, agree or disagree, concur or not, laugh or not, but mostly respond! That's how you know you were heard, if people responded to what you have to say. I think there is great value in writing down thoughts, emotions, observations and such just for yourself, as a memoir or to clarify your mind. Blogging is different! Or is it?

At work Saturday night, after closing we were finishing up and listening to a Satellite radio station and this really pretty John Lennon song came on, called #9 Dream. I was never a Beatles fan. I never got why women fainted and peed themselves in the presence of the Fab 4. They were pop and fun but not worthy of all that drama! American music was already a presence at that time...Elvis, Motown and psychedelic music with The Byrds and The Doors, just to name a few. I spent probably too much time on Amazon listening to the various individual offerings of John Lennon, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison and I found that they were all better individually than together. I guess American girls just like floppy hair and skinny guys! Really, when we already have such a great musical heritage, why do the Beatles get so much glory?
I'm up too late again! My Nightowl lifestyle is not congruent with with the life I ultimately want, but it's what comes naturally as I work in the service industry and don't get home until late. You can never just go right to bed when you get home, hence my late nights. Lately I've been into true crime shows and I just watched a show about a singer from a 90's punk band called The Gits, Mia Zapata who was stalked and murdered. I remember hearing about this when I was in Tucson. The Gits were from Seattle which is where my little brother lived for a short time in the early 90's. I was into the grunge-punk thing and Tim lived there during the heart of it. Mia's murder was pointless, random. A stupid thug killed her. He finally got caught when the DNA technology caught up with him, persevered by police in Seattle who did not give up. It makes me happy that there are people who pursue justice for as long as it takes and don't give up.

I'm Busy

I get annoyed with people who say they got my phone call, text message, whatever but didn't return it because they were 'busy." Busy. When I get that, what I really hear is that "I got your message but it wasn't important enough to respond to because I have more important things to do and more important people to respond to than you." It's a blow-off. Friendships must be maintained, and if they aren't, they go away. Why are people so willing to let truly caring friends go because they can't be bothered to return a phone call or make a lunch date? I'm blessed with the friends I have yet I have lost some for this reason and it makes me sad.
